MANAGING BOMB THREATS AND EXPLOSIVES-RELATED INCIDENTS
We provide first-responders, businesses and their employees with the training necessary to prepare for and manage bomb threats and explosives related incidents. We currently offer the three following dynamic training modules:
Module I: Bomb Threat Management…4-hours
• Participants will learn to understand and recognize the difference between a Specific and Non-Specific bomb threat
• Participants will learn to better understand what motivates individuals to make a bomb threat
• The various ways in which a bomb threat can be sent and received will be discussed
• The bomb threat checklist will be introduced and the participants will learn how this tool can be instrumental in managing a bomb threat
• Through real life interactive exercises, participants will become proficient in the use of the bomb threat checklist
Module II: Explosives, Components and Improvised Explosive Devices…3-hours
• Participants will better understand the three categories of energetic materials (Pyrotechnics, Propellants and Explosives)
• Participants will be able to describe and recognize the three forms of energy release
• Participants will receive instruction regarding the five insults related to explosives
• Participants will be able to describe and recognize the most common military and commercial explosives, components and improvised explosive devices as well as their effects
Module III: Basic Search & Evacuation Techniques…1-hour
• Participants will better-understand who should participate in the search and why
• Participants will learn the most common search techniques
• Participants will be able to demonstrate the proper procedures for conducting an effective search
• Participants will receive instruction regarding secondary devices and their intended purpose
• Participants will learn to conduct a proper evacuation, taking into consideration routes, destination, time, distance and shielding
• Participants will better-understand logistical considerations, including the command post, staging areas, liaison, etc.
Our educational seminars are typically provided in a classroom or auditorium setting and feature a dynamic, instructor-led presentation.
